Having a Bad Day?

This Will Help.

You know, those days when everything just goes wrong and feels off? I just had one of those.

I had plans, a list in my head for how the day should go. And then: shifts, things not working, things I didn’t expect, disappointments. It’s not tragic, but at the moment it sometimes feels like the end of the world. Very frustrating.

I know the theory and logic behind it — our brains just don’t like the unexpected. Even if it’s not awful, our minds still panic and get stuck in a loop. So what? I can’t remember it all with a hot head.

But you know, then something happened.

“FemCity 2025” ArtBook

Out of nowhere, my brain showed me the image: my grandma Tonya’s bookshelf, behind glass are the books stacked tightly next to each other. One of them is “How the Steel Was Tempered”. A Soviet classic I didn’t even read. A thought came in: “Hmm, those bad days are actually making us smarter, wiser, stronger people who can easily handle heat, like steel.”

I instantly switched to gratitude. When you feel you’re growing as a human, learning new things, going out of your comfort zone, this feels so good. And so I did the next thing. Then the next. And felt good.

If you’re having a hard day, week, or season — maybe remember that book title too.

You’re not falling behind. You’re being tempered.

That’s how we become the kind of people who shine.
